Secret City Festival Announces 2008 Entertainment

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. -- The Turtles and Mary Wilson of the Supremes will headline the 2008 Secret City Festival.

The Turtles, known for their hits “Happy Together” and “Elenore” among others, are scheduled to perform on June 20.

Mary Wilson of the Supremes takes the stage June 21, belting out crowd favorites such as “Baby Love” and “You Can’t Hurry Love.”

Individual concert tickets ($20 each) are scheduled to go on sale later this spring. Combo tickets covering both nights of entertainment will be available for $30 from May 1 until June 13.

“It’s a new year and another new Secret City Festival,” said Festival Coordinator Jane Gibson. “We are looking forward to offering another exciting lineup of entertainment, wonderful activities suitable for the entire family, and a great opportunity to tell the unique story of the Secret City.”

The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Secret City Festival Golf Tournament.

Other festival activities include the largest multi-battle World War II event in the Southeast with more than 200 re-enactors, an expanded children’s area, arts and crafts vendors, antique dealers, Manhattan Project tours, and more.
