Billy Baker, also known as "Elwood Smooch," has been Dolly Parton's star comedy musical attraction at Dollywood for over a decade, the Comedy Barn's featured star, and had his own award-winning show, "Old Smoky Hoedown" for 11 years.
The mayor of Pigeon Forge previously honored Baker twice with his own day, in recognition of spreading Smoky Mountain happiness to millions, being inducted into the International Clown Hall of Fame, and contributing to the tourist economy. Baker started his career as a featured clown with Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey and was a TV comedy regular on Hee Haw.
Baker's partner in business and life is his fiancée Melissa Franklin. Franklin was general manager for five years at the very popular American Jukebox Theater in Pigeon Forge and will now be the producer of the retro "50s & 60s Rock-n-Roll Revue."
The "Choo Choo Cha Boogie Show" is a two-hour, down-home, downtown, get-down with big belly laughs, little blessings show. The show features talented kids, amazing music and glorious gospel served with joy, happiness and Tennessee Pride.
This "'50s and '60s Musical Memories Show" is a non-stop, high-energy, oldies rock-n-roll production that provide s the best of songs that ever danced out of a jukebox on a Chattanooga stage.
The band is hot, the singers are soulful and the comedy keeps coming. The singing and dancing ensemble will be backed by a band of Chattanooga's finest musicians.
Comedy will be supplied by Baker, weaving in and out of the program with the novelty hit numbers of the era.
The 550-seat Jukebox Junction Theater is a plush, warm and comfortable venue with ample free parking. All seating is general admission and shows begin at 7:30 p.m.
