"High School Musical" is one of the hottest pop musical favorites today. The phenomenon surrounding this show has been taking the country by storm and now the live stage version can be seen at the Playhouse from through April 26.

Disney’s "High School Musical" is a story of two high school students: Troy Bolton (played by Austin Price and Justin Webb), who is captain of his school's basketball team, and Gabriella Montez (played by Stormi Henley and Kristin Galloway) a shy transfer student who excels in math and science.

Together, they try out for the lead parts in their high school musical. Despite other students' attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella persist and inspire others along the way, as the Jocks and cheerleaders meet and befriend the theater kids, Brainiacs, skater dudes other high school subcultures.

The Cumberland County Playhouse provides performing arts training and experience to hundreds of area youth each year.

Stars of the show include Tennessee teens from Cumberland, Blount, Fentress, Scott, Knox, Roane, Putnam, Morgan, and Rhea counties.
