The new contract will require some enhancements to the services offered at this concession.
For example, the bicycle rental will offer customers a choice of multi-speed or single speed bicycles. The snack bar menu will include several new items including breakfast biscuits, bagels, deli sandwich wraps and pizza.
The contract also requires the concessioner to make improvements to the concession facilities including the construction of a bicycle rental storage shed, an addition to the bicycle rental building, an outside service window on the store building, sidewalks and handicapped access ramp, and landscaping.
The Park will announce a 2008 opening date in the near future.
Although the new contract is effective March 15, Park officials expect that it may take until late March or early April for the new operator to open the store and bike rentals for the season.
