Blount County's newest attraction is the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend. The center features several reconstructed log structures, a 500-seat amphitheater, and outstanding displays and exhibits of East Tennessee culture that date from prehistoric Native Americans to the mountain settlers of the late 1800s and early 1900s.
